Butter Baked Mini Doughnuts
Who doesn’t like mini doughnuts?! And “butter baked”? I made that term up after making these doughnuts. Unlike their fried counterparts, these doughnuts are truly dough-y and buttery which is exceptionally delicious with cinnamon and sugar.
The key is to coat the mini doughnut pan liberally with butter so the doughnut soaks in the flavor. You’ll actually hear the doughnuts “frying” in the pan, and you’ll definitely smell them. You’re gonna love how easy and delicious these babies are!
These mini doughnuts have only four ingredients:
- Rhodes frozen Dinner Rolls (thawed per package instructions)
- Butter – salted butter provides nice balance
- Cinnamon
- Sugar
Kitchen tools needed:
- A mini doughnut pan (two pans are helpful if making lots of doughnuts)
- Small microwave dish for melting butter
- A small pastry or basting brush to butter the doughnut pan and doughnuts
- A small plate or bowl for dusting the doughnuts with cinnamon and sugar
ENJOY!
Butter Baked Mini Doughnuts
Ingredients
- 6 Rhodes frozen Dinner Rolls (thawed), cut in half
- 3 Tbsp butter - salted or unsalted, it's up to you
- 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
-
Pre-heat oven to 350F.
-
Melt butter in a small, microwave-safe dish, and brush the inside of each mini doughnut well liberally with melted butter.
-
Take half of a thawed dinner roll and shape it into a ball. Poke a hole in the middle of the dough using your finger, and place the dough into the mini doughnut pan. Repeat.
-
Lightly butter the top of each doughnut before placing in the oven.
-
Bake at 350F for 8 minutes, Remove pan from oven and flip each of the doughnuts over and bake for another 8 minutes until lightly golden brown.
-
Fill a small rimmed plate or bowl with the cinnamon and sugar mixture. When the doughnuts are done baking, remove the doughnut pan from the oven and place each of the doughnuts into the cinnamon and sugar mixture. One side of the doughnuts will be more buttery - place that side down in the mixture and allow to sit for 15 seconds or so. Then flip the doughnuts to lightly coat all sides.
-
Enjoy warm, right out of the oven!
