CHICKEN BACON FLATBREAD
This Chicken Bacon Flatbread recipe is actually a no-recipe recipe! Although I’ve got some ingredients outlined here, it’s just for inspiration. You can use whatever you want… Whatever you have on-hand.
This is a ridiculously easy way to use up leftovers and small quantities of ingredients in your refrigerator that might otherwise go to waste. It’s also a great way to accommodate different cravings and provide a little something for everyone!
CHOOSE YOUR BASE
I started with my favorite pre-made naan here. It holds up well when topped with ingredients, and the edges become lightly crispy after a few minutes in the oven.
You could also use focaccia or pre-made pizza crusts… Anything you like!
SAUCE OR NO SAUCE
Whether you’re in the mood for BBQ sauce or have a little dressing to use up, you can use whatever works with the toppings you’ll be using. You can even use spreadable cheeses and dips!
Spread the sauce on the base, or drizzle it over your toppings. Add it before or after you pop it in the oven, and go ahead and add a little more after you take them out of the oven if you like.
TOPPINGS
The options are truly endless! Again, this is a great way to use up leftovers, but there’s nothing stopping you from creating different combinations!
Shredded chicken, turkey or pork: use oven roasted, grilled, rotisserie, or baked meat – just make sure it’s pre-cooked.
Bacon: Pre-cooked bacon chopped up into bite-sized pieces adds so much flavor!
Cheeses: I used cheddar and baby Swiss here, but any cheese will work.
Veggies & Greens: Onions are always a good idea in my book! You could also use zucchini or shredded carrots. Leftover grilled or sauteed veggies are great toppings for flatbreads. And arugula, spinach, kale, and fresh herbs lend themselves nicely to a variety of toppings.
Fruits: I love the fresh, lightly sweet crunch that apples, pears, and even grapes add to flatbreads!

Chicken Bacon Flatbread
Ingredients
- 2 - 4 Flatbread, naan, focaccia, or pizza crust
- 1/2 cup Chicken - cooked and shredded
- 1/4 cup Cheddar - shredded
- 1/4 cup Baby Swiss, shredded – Pepper Jack
- 1/4 cup Bacon - cooked and chopped
- 1/3 cup Apples - cut into cubes
- 1/4 cup Red Onions - thinly sliced
- Arugula - for garnish
- BBQ sauce, dressing, or vinaigrette (optional)
Instructions

Spread some sauce on your flatbread, and/or drizzle it on top after baking

Top with shredded chicken, cheeses, bacon, chopped apples, sliced onions, etc.

Place topped flatbread into a pre-heated 400-degree oven for 5 - 10 minutes, just long enough to warm everything up, melt the cheeses, and crisp the edges.

If you wish, Top with fresh arugula or other greens after baking.

Add more sauce just before serving, if you like.
